November weather has finally arrived

November 6, 2015 0 Comments

It took nearly five whole days to happen, but our first seasonably cool air mass of November has settled in just in time for the weekend. The game changing event occurred early Thursday evening with the passage of a potent cold front through the area, ending our unbelievable stretch of early October weather and bringing just a small dose of much-needed rain to the Upper Mississippi Valley. Unfortunately, only 0.05″ was recorded at the Rochester airport as that front moved through. The deficit for the month stands at 0.28″ and for the season, it’s 1.83″. Behind the front, we’re dealing with a dry, cold breeze and seasonably cool temperatures for our Friday and it looks like the weekend will be similar with some added sunshine.

Temperatures are 15 to 20 degrees cooler than midday Thursday for our Friday.
