Are you dreaming of a White Christmas? For some folks across Minnesota, you may be struggling to scrape up enough snow to even qualify for a White Christmas which is defined by at least 1 inch of snow on the ground on Christmas Day! As of this Wednesday (December 19th) southern Minnesota was holding on to the remnants of our last snowfall from the beginning of December. When you talk about the historical probability of a White Christmas across southeast Minnesota, we typically range from 60 to 75% when it comes to seeing a White Christmas. Those probabilities go up for places like northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where the historical probability is above 90%! With Christmas less than a week away, it may be a struggle to add to our snow pack, especially across the southern half of the state!

Here’s a look at snow depth as of December 19th and historical probability of seeing a White Christmas
