Labor Day Severe t-storm watch

Severe T-Storm Watch until 1AM Tuesday

8:00 pm update: Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1 AM for the counties outlined in the blue (see image). Rochester, Decorah, Winona, Wabasha included in the Watch.

Biggest threats will be hail and high winds…heavy rain and dangerous lightning, too!

Remember that severe thunderstorms can and often without little warning spawn tornadoes. I’m saying this tonight because there’s still some doozy spin in our atmosphere.

Severe Weather Threat Today

Severe Weather Threat OutlookWith the arrival of a storm system from the west today, our atmosphere is primed for severe weather, possibly coming in a couple of rounds of activity.  We’ll have a chance for some strong storms through the mid morning hours followed by another round of storms later in the afternoon and for the evening.  We’re also still watching out for some locally heavy rain in some of the thunderstorms we’ll experience today and tonight.  Large hail and damaging winds appear to be the primary threats with today’s storms as far as severe activity is concerned.  The same is conditions will be possible tomorrow with a similar outcome.
