4th of July forecast

The 4th of July is still looking stormy. The best chance for rain and storms will be in the afternoon and evening hours…and a little bit further into the late evening hours for folks in Iowa. Not so much severe weather (cloud cover during the day will be a severe-weather-limiting factor), but a major inconvenience to your outside plans, no doubt.

There’s a ton of moisture to work with in our corner of the world, so we’re looking at the potential for some heavy rains. That’s why there’s a Flash Flood Watch for folks in NE Iowa through Monday. Look for an inch or so plus to fall just by Monday morning, with more on Monday.

If we get lucky, most of the stormy stuff should exit SE Minn. by the late evening hours on Sunday. The best chance for seeing those fireworks show get off the ground appear to be north and west of the Minn/Iowa border. Fingers crossed!
