We’ve already enjoyed a couple of doses of rather pleasant and mild early spring days in the past couple of weeks, including the past two days where highs near 60 degrees were felt across the entire area. It looks like we’ll be building on the concept of small gasps of mild weather by stretching out a longer spell of warmth to last through the tail end of this week into the early part of the weekend. Not only will we be flirting with 60 degree type warmth, but we’ll have a shot at 70 degrees for the first time in 2014 during this upcoming warm up. Our Tuesday, meanwhile, is a day that is more along the lines of your garden variety breezy and cool April weather.
The jet stream will buckle northward for the midweek, allowing some mild air in from the south, setting the stage for possibly the warmest day in 6 months for us. High temperatures near 70 degrees will be possible Wednesday thanks to sun filled skies and gusty southwest winds that will mix down some of that warmer air. The last time Rochester officially registered a high of 70 degrees was on October 11 of last year, incidentally.
