Severe weather doesn’t end with the warm weather. In the cold months, the danger comes in the form of cold, snow, and ice.
Why be concerned?
- Winter weather can cause dangerous travel, sometimes severe enough to lead to the potential to become stranded.
- If you’re caught out and unprepared, winter storms can kill. Strong storms often bring not only hazardous precipitation, but can create dangerous wind chills.
- Winter storms can affect communication and travel for the short-term and for days. Sometimes, snow and ice is heavy enough it paralyzes areas for days.
