A nuisance snow should be expected tonight through Friday. It’s getting started as a wintry mix with some icing, so do expect slower travel for your Friday morning commute. Snow totals out of this event will stay minor by Friday afternoon. I’m expecting up to 2″ in southern Minnesota and north Iowa, with most locations receiving an inch or less.
Of more interest…to me, anyway…is a possible snow event for late Sunday through Monday. With another slow-moving wave spinning across the region, we’ll be in a prime location for a long-lived, fluffy snow event with decent accumulations of snow. This coming storm will usher in the colder, Arctic air that is going to keep next week’s highs in the teens and lows below zero.
