Is it the End or a new Beginning?

Monk…I really don’t know what to think about this show.  The second part of the season finale was just so…..so poetic and meaningful.  I really don’t know if this is the end, but what a way to go if it is.

For those of you who don’t know, the—————————–NEVER MIND!!!!!!!!!!  I just read that Monk is returning!!!!!!!!!!!  It’s on the USA website!!!!!!

Okay, so now we know it’s a new beginning!  The finale was wonderful.  Monk can never truly end until he finds Trudy’s killer.  Well, he found Trudy’s killer and the killer (the six finger man) was promptly killed off.  It all has to do with Dale Biederbeck, AKA Dale the Whale.  And he really is a whale…so utterly huge and amazingly gross.  Well, viewers are led to believe that Dale actually orchestrated Trudy’s killing.  If I remember correctly, the reason he had her killed was because she uncovered a story about him and was going to print it.  (She was a newspaper reporter.)  Monk has not been able to uncover evidence of this though.  But he, in past episodes, put Dale behind bars for other reasons.

Now, we know that someone nicknamed "The Judge" is behind Trudy’s death.  My sister thinks The Judge IS Dale the Whale, but I don’t think so.  I think Dale knows who The Judge is and why Trudy was murdered, but Dale is truly evil.

Monk, in the season finale, overcame so many things.  He ended up swimming, being dirty, so many things.  Many may say it was out of character for Monk, but there was one line that made it all okay.  When Monk met up with Stottlemeyer on the beach, Stottlemeyere said, "Not so bad for someone who can’t swim."  Monk replied, "I was highly motivated."  He overcame some of his fears because he had to.  He just HAD to.

The other great part of the season finale was when he saved the governor.  Now a quick flash back first.  In the series premiere of Monk, the governor actually insisted that Monk be in on the case.  Stottlemeyer didn’t want him there, but the governor insisted, so started Monk’s consulting career.  So, come back to last week’s episode…Monk’s nightmare is coming true.  Someone is going to die in a car bomb right in front of him.  The captain and Disher were being arrested.  Natalie was being restrained.  Monk ran out of cover (he was still a wanted man at this time) and ran toward a car he knew had a bomb strapped to it.  As he was running, he had a flash back of a nightmare he’d had earlier in the episode of him trying to run toward Trudy and save her from the car bomb, but he never moved, he just ran in place.  He had to watch her blow up.  But this time, Monk was able to save the governor from the car bomb.

He made progress.  It was SO cool.  Well…July will start lucky season 7 for Monk.  I can’t wait!

Monk, Oh, Monk!

477pxadrien_monk So according to my sister The Futon Critic says that Psych has been renewed, but Monk has not and don’t hold your breath.  Now if I were to have heard this a week I would have been devestated, but ya know?  I’m not.  Not after I saw Friday’s episode.  The whole premise of this show is about the defective detective, right?  He had a severe case of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and many fears, but was able to handle them until his wife, Trudy, was murdered.  Now they fears and his OCD are out of control and he spends his life trying to put things back in place.  Crime scenes mainly.  He’s always been able to solve everything, but he can’t solve his wife’s murder.  They’ve gone after a six finger man who may have been the hitman for Trudy’s murder when Mr. Monk went to Manhattan.  They’ve been to the parking garage where Trudy’s car blew up.  They’ve gone over A LOT about Trudy’s death.  But the show won’t be finished until Trudy’s murderer is found.

Now?  Monk is being charged with the murder of another six finger man who admitted he killed Trudy.  But he’s being framed.  Last Friday, the episode ended with Captain Stottlemeyer shooting Monk.  But you know he really didn’t shoot Monk because the second part of the season finale is next week.  I’ve come to realize that as long as Monk finds his killer, he can rest at peace and the show can go out on a good note.  I mean, the show (a cable show no less) is now ending it’s 6th season.  That’s a good run for a show on a major network, let alone a cable network on a Friday night.  So, if Monk isn’t renewed, I will mourn it’s passing, but it had a great run.

The Celebrity Apprentice Soprano Style

This last week The Apprentice took a turn…towards mafia kinda.  All of a sudden Vinny was kicked out by Piers and found himself on the girls team.  All in all it was really intriguing to see how it played out.  I guess my question is whether or not Donald Trump would have allowed all this spy work if it had been a regular season of The Apprentice.  Obviously it backfired on Vinny, but what if it had worked?  What if his double agent deal had worked?  What if this had been a regular season?  Would the person have gotten fired?  I don’t know.  All I know is that Piers has GOT TO GO DOWN!!!

Also, I find it interesting that Stephen Baldwin, the man with a ministry, is involved in many of the conflicts on the show.  Last week, Ivanka referred to him as a moral compass.  I want to know if Stephen was insulted that Ivanka didn’t refer to him as being moral.  Interesting.  Have to wait til tomorrow to find out.
